Back to the Garden
Imagine what it would have been like to live in the Garden of Eden before that fateful decision. All the food was perfectly nutritious. There was no guilt or shame about anything! There was peace. Every need was beautifully met. There was no stress.
Ever since that fateful decision, there is something inside of each of us that yearns for that right-ness. The way things were meant to be. We see the struggle and hurt and pain and confusion everyday and deal with it ourselves in a myriad of ways. We long for God and his intended way of life. We see all the things that are wrong and we wonder how it will ever be made right.
I do not know.
I don’t know how God will restore his creation. I don’t know when it will be. I don’t know what it will look like. I don’t know who will be involved. I don’t know where it will be.
But I do know that we will recognize it. Because something inside of us will say - “That’s it! That’s what I’ve been longing for! That’s what is missing!” I do know it will happen. I do know that Jesus is returning to restore God’s creation to it’s former glory and that the Holy Spirit will prompt me to grab it with both hands and I will be transported back to the Garden. Or to Heaven.
It will be as it was in the beginning: Perfect.
